云是影响地球气候的重要因素之一，对云进行监测是研究全球气候变化的重要一环。本文首先简略介绍了美国的新一代对地观测卫星Suomi NPP，然后将Suomi NPP卫星搭载的VIIRS传感器与MODIS传感器做了一个对比，最后用VIIRS数据做了云检测分析，分析结果表明VIIRS数据能够很好地被用来做云监测分析。Cloud is an important factor that affects the climate change of the Earth, so the research of cloud monitoring is very important. This paper makes an introduction for America’s new generation of earth observation satellite Suomi NPP, and makes a comparison between the VIIRS and the MODIS. A simple application analysis is made, and the analysis indicates that the result is reasonable.
