摘要:
This paper addresses the environmental impacts of an influx of large numbers of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles in the U.S. vehicle fleet, over a period of about 40 years - from 2010 to 2050. The main goals of the study are: 1. Comprehension of the impact of nationwide use of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles on greenhouse gas emissions exhausted from the U.S. vehicle fleet; 2. Modeling of plug-in hybrid electric vehicle adoption on air quality in the United States; and 3. Development of a robust method of evaluation for future assessment of environmental impacts of electric vehicles and other vehicle technology.
