Abstract: One important and growing stream in organizational learning research focuses on the learning from negative experience. Haunschild et al. (2015) develop and test a model of organizational oscillation that explains why firms cycle through periods of learning and periods of forgetting, while they do not go into depth on it. So, this research deepens the connotation and mechanism of organizational oscillation, and modifies the model. Then, applying attention based view, we try to explore the mechanism of organizational oscillation. This research enriches the organizational learning and forgetting theory. It also makes theory contribution to reduce the frequent occurrence of serious errors.
